This stop-motion advertisement for Electrabel is pretty cool. 300,000 candles were used!
Here's how they made the video!

Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Cupcakes
So I stole this idea from Lovin from the Oven . However, I tried the brown sugar cupcake recipe she posted, and I was not satisfied. The cupcakes turned out a really weird texture, really crystally and they were more muffin like. They also didn't tend to rise much. I tried to alter the recipe and add more stuff to it and continue to bake the rest of the batter, but it wasn't working. The cupcakes weren't terrible - but, just not what I wanted. So I tried a different recipe which turned out amazing! They were soooo moist and rose beautifully. They were a perfect texture.
Frozen cookie dough was placed in the center of the cupcakes (the dough was suppose to be frozen, which would not allow the cookie to bake all of the way, however they still tended to bake thoroughly). Eventhough the cookie dough baked completely and somewhat just blended in with the cake batter, these still turned out delicious! They tasted so good without the icing, they'd make a good breakfast.
But at last, I topped them with Cookie Dough flavored icing! Now I must find people to give them to. . . . so I'm not tempted to eat them.
I'll post the brown sugar cupcake recipe soon. For it is definitely a recipe I want to continue to use! Soooo good!
Valentines Day Experimenting
I should add - I haven't been feeling the greatest lately. I think my love for sweets has finally had an effect on me. ? I've been having to really watch what I eat. I've been eating fruits and veggies, mmmmmm Corn on the cob is so amazing. But anyway, I haven't really been eating any sweets, besides this last bunch of baked goods, which I just had to try ONE bite to test. Even though I haven't been eating sweets, I CANT STOP FROM BAKING. So... uh, I keep filling my freezer, and bringing treats to my neighbors :)

Guitar Cake

I made a guitar cake for a few friends birthday. Things didn't end up as perfect as I wanted. I would have liked to spend more time making things perfect and putting in more detail, but I ran out of time and was rushing. I seemed to forget all about putting on the frets!! oops! This is the first time really piecing a cake together with many parts. The cake isn't nearly perfect, but I'm enjoying trying to get to that stage. However, the cake was quite a hit and tasted yummy! I create these cakes in my tiny little studio apartment downtown. Which is alright, however, having a bigger freezer would be AMAZING! I froze this cake over night and then pieced it together the following day. After putting a thin layer of icing on my cakes, I usually stick the cake back in the freezer or fridge for just a while. This makes the icing harden a bit and then I can go back over the cake with more icing, creating a smooth surface. This method seems to help with not allowing crumbs to mix in with the icing. Due to the size of the guitar cake (which was just a tad smaller than an actual electric guitar), I was not able to chill the cake in-between. If I had the capabilities of doing so, icing the cake would go much smoother and faster! I could also stand to have a larger oven :) but.... I LOVE my studio apartment. It's cute, cozy, and a fun little space.
Oh, and I had a hard time trying to find something to put this big cake on.. so I ended up taking the top off my cheap coffee table and covering it with paper! It was the perfect size!

cuteness
I love these paper cupcake/muffin cups. So elegant and beautiful! They would make each cupcake even more of a treat. DIYable.. If only I had the Craft Robo to cutout every little detail!
